Volkswagen returned to the spotlight earlier today to unveil on the next-gen Jetta GLI. Due to get distributed later this year, the compact sedan is confirmed to come out running on the GLI’s engine.
In detail, it is the EA888 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder motor that generates 210hp. This promises an exhilarating performance on the upcoming Jetta.
Then again, it is disappointing to learn that the Jetta is not built on the MQB platform. The architecture from Volkswagen offers versatility and practicality at its best but it failed to shape the Jetta.
Also, it is not like the new Jetta is any different from the previous model. All it has is an extra 13hp and some boring tweaks to its design.
This sums up that the Volkswagen Jetta is nothing more than an overhyped vehicle that ended up in disappointment. If Volkswagen was truly serious about the car, they would have gone all-out with its offerings.
