If the answer to the title is yes, then it is best for you to stop anticipating Resident Evil 7. This is because the upcoming title is going to be built on the horror genre, just like how it was in the first Resident Evil trilogy.
This was suggested by a leak screenshot of the game in production which saw Resident Evil 7 being set in Racoon City. The thing is that Racoon City is the location setting for Resident Evil 1 to Resident Evil 3.
Since the first trilogy revolves around horror, returning to Racoon City in Resident Evil 7 might also mean horror being restored in the franchise.
Then again, it is best not to get high hopes over this since the leak is considered as unproven. For more confirmation, Resident Evil fans will have to wait until E3 happens next month. After all, that is when Resident Evil 7 is expected to get unveiled.
