2016 Ford Ranger Won’t Rival Chevy Colorado

Later this year, Ford will be launching a new generation of Rangers but the vehicle won’t be making its debut here in the US. Instead, the Ranger will be built specifically for the Asia Pacific region.

This basically means that the Chevrolet Colorado is able to live another day without any rival. Heck, Ford won’t be introducing anything that will compete with the Colorado.

Even so, their decision is explainable and it is for the obvious reasons. As great as the upcoming Ranger is, the vehicle won’t be selling well here in the US.

Statistics have shown that the mid-sized pickup truck segment is dead. The only thing that sells in this country is large pickup trucks. This basically explains why most carmakers are no longer producing mid-sized models, except for the Chevrolet and the latest Colorado.

While if the Colorado managed to sell well, the overall sales graphs are still on a decline. This concludes why Ford won’t be launching the Ranger here in the US.
