The Mazda CX-9 was very well received when it was released here in the US. It came with a great exterior design, a new engine and tons of the tech and features but at the end of the day, the Mazda CX-5 was the one that got the last laugh with their new diesel engine.
While most automakers are trying avoid offering diesel-powered models here in the US, Mazda boldly announces that one of the engine options that we will be getting here in the US will be the diesel engine.
The diesel model will be powered by a 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D engine that has been tuned to meet the emission standard here in the US. We still do not know the EPA numbers of the new diesel engine but it is still exciting to know that a diesel option will be available next year.
The new Mazda CX-5 should be arriving in Japan early next year first before making its way to the rest of the markets globally.
