Jeep will be making a few major changes to the upcoming 2018 Jeep Wrangler and one of it might include a Ram 1500 engine under the hood.
There are now reports suggesting that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler might be powered by a 3.0-liter diesel engine, the same engine that the Ram 1500 is currently running on. If that is the case, the Jeep Wrangler should be offering about 420lb ft of torque when it arrives next year.
Some of the upgrades that we know will be happening includes a new and more aerodynamic design as well as a new aluminum build body. According to the leaked internal memo from Alcoa, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler might be fitted with an aluminum inner structure as well as an aluminum hood.
While that might benefit the Jeep Wrangler in terms of performance and fuel efficiency, users are worried that the lighter doors will mean that they will have to slam the door harder to shut it now.
