Hyundai Santa Fe & Tucson May Have A Quirky Brother

The recently released Nissan Juke has become such a massive global success that it has sparked many other carmakers to pursue the mini-SUV segment. Among them is Hyundai and the Korean company didn’t shy away from their interest.

Hyundai has been closely monitoring the Nissan Juke, Vauxhall Mokka, Renault Captur and the Peugeot 2008 and they have all been a hit. An unnamed Hyundai representative revealed that the mini-SUV market has been expanded very quickly.

The lad added that Hyundai wishes to join in the trend but wishes to monitor its success first. This is to ensure that the mini-SUV interest is not short-lived. The representative remains positive after claiming that Hyundai will fast once things are confirmed.

Just recently, the Korean carmaker unveiled the ix25 at the Beijing Auto Show and it has got a positive reaction from the public. The SUV will be produced for the Asian market, including India.

As for the global mini-SUV, Hyundai confirmed that it will not be based on the ix-25 or the i-20 platform as the company prefers to start on something new. Whatever the vehicle may be, it will be unveiled in the next Auto Show and will look to compete with the Juke in every way.
