Lexus has proved itself to be a valuable asset for Toyota. The luxury-division of the Japanese carmaker has just released the GS 300h and it has been mesmerizing.
For starters, the mid-size sedan achieved 5-star ratings Federal Government’s Green Vehicle Guide. The entry level GS 300h retails at $79,000 and it can go all the way up to $99,900 if consumers opted for the V6-hybrid GS 450h.
For a high-end sedan, the efficiency is truly impressive. It is able to achieve 5.2L/100km which makes it the best from all the rest. Under the hood, the Lexus 300h rides on a 2.5L 4-cylinder petrol/electric engine. The specially crafted power source minimizes energy loss and heavily recycles energy.
In figures, the 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine delivers 133kW of power at 6000rpm and, combined with the hybrid system, delivers 164kW. Peak torque of 221Nm is delivered between 4200rpm and 5400rpm. The 300h have a rear-wheel drive system and is operated through a 6-step CVT automatic transmission.
The design of the 300h is very typical of Lexus. It has a more luxury design and is also equipped with a central screen that operates the car’s system.
The best thing about the 300h is the comfort it offer. Even when on a hybrid system, the car moves swiftly and quietly. As a matter of fact, the noise are simply non-existent which will surely appeal to the rich echelon.
