Honda has made it clear that they will be fitting their Honda Accord with a turbo engine. While some people thinks that going turbo is the worst thing automakers can do to a car, there is no denying that going turbo does help improve the fuel economy of the vehicle and also help with the performance of the car as well.
While Toyota has never indicated that they are looking to offer their Toyota Camry with a turbo engine, many believe that Toyota will be forced to go down the turbo route now since the Accord will be running on one.
If the rumors are true, the Honda Accord will be coming in with the same engine as the Civic which is a 1.5-liter turbo four engine. To match that, Toyota will have to bring out the 2.0-liter turbo four engine that the Toyota Prius is currently using. That means it will also be riding on the same TNGA platform.
