Ever since MINI got bought over by BMW, things have been prospering for the British carmaker. The brand is no longer about producing small, classy cars. BMW has created a variety of MINIs ranging from the standard hatchback, all the way to a subcompact crossover cabriolet.
Soon, MINI will be entering the Pickup Truck segment after the company rolled out images of the MINI Cooper S Paceman. At a glance, the pickup truck looks exactly like the MINI Countryman but instead of the rear seats, the company gave it an open rear cabin.
The Cooper S Paceman will be an AWD vehicle that offers 182hp at 184ps from its turbocharged mill. Also, the unique pickup will be coming with features like a cargo bed with a functional tail gate, and a solid roof rack with a set of auxiliary lights and a spare tire. The photos showed the Paceman pickup in metallic jungle green colour.
The special thing about the Cooper S Paceman is that it will have the ability to go off-road. The student designers which created this concept ensured that the Paceman has high clearance and will feature off-road tyres. Even MINI confirms that the pickup truck is suitable for driving on gravel roads, muddy tracks and desert trails. Heck, it can even cross a challenging river with ease.
This will surely excite all the MINI fans out there. With the higher suspensions and a powerful engine, MINI fans can finally replicate the scenes from the Italian Job film remake. Then again, we highly advise against doing so.
