2015 Subaru Legacy Review: It Is Better Than The Outback

Late last year, Subaru launched a new-generation of Legacy but the car didn’t manage to appeal to the masses. This is due to the availability of the latest Subaru Outback which many perceive as a car that is much better than the Legacy.

On the other hand, there are certain ways in which the Legacy is actually better than the Outback. For starters, the Legacy offers a much smoother driving experience. On the Outback however, we felt a lot of bumpy gear changes and the hard suspensions don’t make things comforting at all.

Then there is the fact that the Legacy is more fuel efficient than the Outback. In our recent road trip test, we went through a heavy traffic jam and mountainous roads here in Colorado. Even so, we averaged about 32mpg which is really great. Official figures revealed that the Legacy returns 28mpg city/36mpg highway/30mpg combined. The Outback is 3-5mpg worse than the Legacy.

Finally is the cargo space on the Legacy. While it may just be a sedan, the car has a whopping 15 cubic feet of cargo room to offer. Apparently, this is much larger than the Outback.

Consumers need to be aware of these stats if they are planning to purchase the Subaru Outback. The Subaru Legacy is a really great car to own and consumers should check the sedan out to see for themselves.
