Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 vs iPad Mini 2: Which Is Better?

Both the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and the Apple iPad Mini 2 have long been released and it is safe to say that these tablets are the lightweight slates from their respective company. Above that, it is still Samsung and Apple which is enough to justify our decision to compare them. Let the world bear witness to this mega-duel for the best tablet in the featherweight category.

The iPad Mini 2 certainly lived up to its name which means small. It is only 7.9inch in terms of display size which is way smaller than the 10.1 inch screen on the Galaxy Tab 3. However, the former is able to produce 2048 x 1536 resolution whereas the Tab 3 is underpowered with its 800 x 1280 resolution.

Both tablets are running on the latest OS which is the iOS 7.1 and the Android 4.4.2 KitKat respectively.

In terms of hardwares, the Tab 3 is equipped with the dual-core 1.6GHz processor with Intel Atom chipset and 1GB RAM. The Mini 2 on the other hand runs on the 1.3 GHz Cyclone A7 processor with 1GB RAM.

The Mini 2 is ahead in terms of storage space as it has that 128GB option. The Galaxy Tab 3 is somewhat limited to 32GB of space but it is expandable up to 64GB with a microUSB.

Yet again, the Mini 2 is better with snapping photos and videos since it is equipped with a 5MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front camera. The Tab 3 is rather weak with its 3.15MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera.

Both devices can last up to 10hours with their batteries.

The price of the iPad Mini 2 4G 16GB is at AU$599.95 which is more expansive than the AU$499.95 price tag on the 4G LTE 16GB Galaxy Tab 3. This might be disappointing but then again, the iPad Mini 2 gives your money worth as it is far superior that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.
