Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE Gets Stock Android 4.4.2 Update

Kudos to Samsung for being consistent in making great devices but not everyone likes the TouchWiz feature on their devices. If you’re among the fans of a stock Android OS, then you are in for some good news. The Samsung galaxy S4 LTE can now get the original Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

This feat is specially meant for the GT-I9505 models and a manual installation has to be done to acquire the stock OS. Before you proceed, do make sure that your Galaxy S4 is all backed up and charged up to 80%. Also, USB debugging has to be enabled.

Now, follow the flashing instructions below:

1. Download the stock Android KitKat and Odin v3.09.
2. On the S4, press and hold the Power, Volume Up and Home button simultaneously. Once a prompt appears, remove holding all the buttons except for the Volume Up.
3. Extract Odin v3.09 and run the .exe file as an administrator.
4. Connect the S4 to a PC via USB. The ID:COM should turn blue once done.
5. In Odin, choose AP and select the .md5 file.
6. Un-tick the Re-partition option. Select Auto-reboot and go with F. Reset Time.
7. Start the installation and wait for it to end.
8. The device should reboot and the stock KitKat will be in place.
