Let’s face it. The Windows mobile platform has never been interesting at all. That is until Cortana looks set to come with the upcoming Windows 8.1 OS. With the huge amount of gamers in the world, Cortana will definitely seduce them all to own a Windows phone.
Well there is some good news for the consumers. There is a way to get the Windows 8.1 now. Of course it is only the preview version. The downside is that once Windows 8.1 is installed, there is no way to revert back to the old OS. On top of that, users will lose their warranty.
If you are the persistent sort, then follow the instructions below.
1. Go to Windows Phone App Studio and log in with your account. Now start a new project.
2. Go to the Store in the Windows phone and search for ‘Preview for Developers’.
3. Get the app and follow all the instructions with it.
4. Once done, go to settings and select ‘phone update’. It will download Windows 8.1 OS.
Now, Cortana won’t be available straight away as it is developed for the US only. To get this feature, users have to do the following.
1. Go to settings and change the region to the US.
2. Under language settings, change it to English (US)
