Ford Teams Up With Blackberry And Not Microsoft

Ford is finally ready to say goodbye to Microsoft, as they have chosen to go with Blackberry instead for their development of the Sync 3.

Though Microsoft would still be doing the updates for Sync 3 at the moment, Blackberry will be the official developer in future updates. Also worthy to know is that the Blackberry QNX OS is going to be behind the Sync 3 to come out in the future. Updates would still remain on the Azure Cloud servers of Microsoft but would be transmitted to the Sync 3 system later on.

Microsoft is still responsible for Sync 3’s Wi-Fi connectivity and the Sync 3 is in its final stages of development so it should be ready next year.

Also, the MyFord Touch system is going to be taken over by a brand new infotainment system and this will definitely be coming out on the upcoming Ford and Lincoln vehicles in 2016.
