2016 Mazda CX-9: Taking Things A Little Further

One of the improvements that Mazda did say the Mazda CX-9 will be coming in with is the fuel economy of the vehicle and now that the EPA numbers are out, let’s see if the Mazda CX-9 is really better now.

NRCan previously reported that the Mazda CX-9 will be 35% better in terms of fuel economy when compared to the previous model but at that time, the EPA numbers have not been released yet.

According to Mazda, the Mazda CX-9 with the front wheel drive system will return about 22mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive Mazda CX-9, on the other hand, will return about 21mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway. That is about 32% more fuel efficient than before.

Under the hood of the Mazda CX-9 is a 2.5 liter Skyactive-G turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be delivering about 250hp and 310lb ft of torque.
