2015 Porsche Panamera Facelift: Beauty Restored [PICS]

The Porsche Panamera is neither a sedan nor an SUV. Instead, it is a shooting brake-styled vehicle that has been criticized for its lacklustre design. Porsche is aware of the criticism and hence, promises to eradicate the flaw with the Panamera Facelift that is due to arrive next year.

Today, we can get a glimpse of the second-generation Panamera after spy shots of the vehicle surfaced online yesterday. At a glance, the upcoming model has a bolder stance and a more prolific design.

In detail, the Panamera Mk2 comes with a swooping roofline and accentuated haunches on its rear section that looks like the Porsche 911. The front lights are also more angular and there is the new LED headlight that seems to be inspired by the Porsche Macan.

Inside the vehicle, Porsche ported the interior on the 918 Spyder to the upcoming Panamera. There is that all-familiar touchscreen panel embedded on the dashboard that will replace the many buttons and switches found on most other Porsche vehicles.

The structure of the Panamera is built on Volkswagen’s MSB architecture that is commonly used by the Audi A8 and Bentley Continental. Also, Porsche utilized high-strength steel for the vehicle’s frame to make it much lighter than its predecessor.

Under the hood, we can expect the Porsche Panamera to share the same set of powertrains with the Macan. There will be four trim levels for the vehicle and they are the Panamera S, Diesel, Turbo and a plug-in SE hybrid model. Of course, this will all be clarified as we get closer to the Panmera’s release late next year.
