The Genesis has been Hyundai’s most prized possession and it is about to get a massive upgrade. What is previously regarded as cheap Koran car will soon get a luxury treatment like no other.
An industry insider revealed to us that Hyundai is secretly developing the Genesis Coupe to be bigger and look more like a luxury grand tourer with avante-garde styling. The design is heavily inspired by the HND-9 concept which was seen on the 2013 Seoul Motor Show.
Unlike most 2-door coupes, the Genesis will be so big that it is able to fit 4-adults easily and comfortably. The insider further revealed that the vehicle will be powered by a V8 mill, with the option of a V6 and a 4-cylinder turbocharged.
The top of the line model, in particular, will be powered by a 3.3-liter turbocharged, direct-injected engine with 364 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The design is a big jump from its predecessors as it comes with more hard creases, a wide, meshes grille and butterfly doors.
This is a massive vehicle currently being produced by Hyundai. Just by looking back at the concept images, the car holds so many promises to be Korean’s first super car. The insider concluded by tipping that the Genesis Coupe will be making its debut in 2016.
