2015 Honda Accord Facelift Groomed Like The Upcoming Civic Type-R

China’s car manufacturer, DongFang, has unveiled the Spirior Facelift during the recent Beijing Auto Show and it is the biggest clue to the highly anticipated Honda Accord Facelift that is due to arrive next year.

This is due to the fact that that the Spirior is basically the Accord, renamed and rebadged for the local Chinese market. Furthermore, the Spirior Facelift is also developed by both DongFang and Honda.

The Japanese carmaker even went public to describe the Spirior Facelift as a car that will achieve “significant advancements in exterior design, dynamic performance and technologies as well as safety features”.

When looking at the Spirior Facelift, we noticed that the mid-size sedan comes with the same structure and size as the existing Accord models. However, the front portion has got some new design, which looks exactly like the upcoming Honda Civic Type-R.

Under the hood, the Spirior is powered by a 2.4 liter direct injection four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with an 8 speed DCT transmission. We can expect an engine of the same calibre to power the upcoming Honda Accord Facelift.

Other feature that will be ported to the Accord Facelift includes lane departure warning, blind spot display system and head-up display.
