2015 Ford Edge: Technological Advancements Coming To The SUV

The Ford Edge has long served the masses as one of the most reliable SUVs around and now, it is finally getting sequel that is due to arrive next year. Ford will be going all out in improving the upcoming Edge.

For starters, the SUV will be getting tons of new gadgets like adaptive cruise control, adaptive steering system, collision warning with brake support, active park assist, glove box-mounted airbag system. Hands free liftgate, 180 degree front camera with washer and inflatable rear safety belts.

Also, the SUV will sport newly designed suspensions which will give the Edge a more stable stance, even when it is driving on a bumpy road. Furthermore, the suspensions will assist in keeping out the loud road noise from entering the cabin.

In addition to that, the Edge offers an adaptive electric steering which is paired to the self-parking function. The new wheel will enhance handling while also enabling the Edge to park all by itself.

The upcoming Edge will come in 4 trim levels- the SE, SEL, Sport and Titanium. The engines vary on different trim levels and they are the 2.0liter Ecoboost four cylinder engine to a 2.7 liter EcoBoost V6 or a 3.5 liter V6 engine. Regardless, the motor will be mated to the 6-speed automatic transmission.

Ford has confirmed that the Edge will be joining their fleet next year. However, the American carmaker didn’t go into specifics like when exactly the SUV will be released.
