Samsung products are predictable in every way. We know that with every successor to its model, it will often get a better specs and features. However, things are already pretty fast today that even the smartphone from 2 years ago can manage today’s demand.
The latest Galaxy S5 is no different. In fact, it didn’t live up to the hype from the fans and analysts alike. Samsung’s mistake to not go all out on the S5 will definitely be a turning point in the market. With iPhone 6 lurking around the corner, this upcoming Apple device is called upon to slay the S5 and here are two reasons why.
If there is one great reason not to purchase a Samsung is due to the company’s love for plastic. Despite boasting a superb specification, the tacky plastic finish is a huge turnoff. We’ve seen Nokia, HTC and many other phonemakers giving their flagship phone that premium metal finish. However, they are not enough to convince the masses on not to get the Galaxy S5. In fact, the HTC One looks great and have that same firepower as the Galaxy S4 but Samsung’s market share overpowered it.
As such, the iPhone 6 is expected to have a much bigger screen and a revamped more premium design that will settle the tussle once and for all.
Then there is the TouchID. Apple first introduced its fingerprint sensor on its latest 5S. Samsung tried to replicate that and even went as far as collaborating with Paypal. That is a great use for the fingerprint scanner. However, there is no denying that Apple is king of innovation. The TouchID was merely to condition its users. The function will come together in iPhone 6 with all the payments and security included. Even the 5S will get updated to the iOS 8 and make this vision come true.
Aside from the specs and features, Samsung has to change its ways with the design and innovation or start seeing a decline in the market share. Sony, HTC and Nokia might not have a huge slice of the pie but their consistency on these elements paid off. As for Apple, the iPhone 6 will definitely shake the world of Samsung.
