Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs S5: Does Size Matter?

The recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S5 is certainly something else. This upcoming device from Samsung is packed with all the latest hardwares which made it the best smartphone yet.

In spite of that, many have been wondering on how big the gap is between the Galaxy S5 and the latest Galaxy Note 3. Looking at this latest phablet, it is only 6% longer and 8% wider than the S5.

This certainly has an effect on the display quality. Thanks to the S5 smaller screen size, it offers 80% more ppi than the Note 3. Nevertheless, both devices are available in 1080p displays.

In terms of features, the Note 3 has an S Pen which makes it act more like a note. The S5 has that fingerprint scanner and a heartbeat sensor. It is the only device from Samsung to have these capabilities.

The pixel count on the S5 is much larger compared to the Note 3 as well. The former is equipped with a 16MP rear camera which has the fastest auto focus measured at 0.3 seconds. Both devices are compatible with wearables.

In terms of processors, the S5 is running on the latest Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5GHz with 2GB RAM. This is much faster than the Note 3 which runs on the Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.3GHZ. However, the phablet manage to keep up with its 3GB RAM.

The Galaxy Note 3 cost $700 and the S5 is expected to have that same price tag with its predecessor, the S4. The differences is not that huge between the two devices but when it comes to features, the Galaxy S5 has certainly more to offer.
