The iPad Mini 2 can be said to be a smaller version of the iPad Air. Both slates from Apple are so alike that there is little to tell them apart.
On the other hand, the Nexus 7 2 from Google has proved yet again how things can be great at a small price. As such we have put the iPad Mini 2 against the Google Nexus 7 2 to find out which is the better of the two.
As mentioned earlier, the Nexus 7 2 is so much cheaper compared to the iPad Mini 2. Both devices are selling at £199 and £269 respectively. Of course, the price tags are for the entry level models of each device.
In terms of the display, the 1920×1200 pixel resolution on the Nexus 7 2 certainly produce much more crisp image compared to the one on iPad Mini 2. As a matter of fact, the colours are also much more vibrant and the viewing angles have been superb.
As for the performance, the iPad Mini 2 runs on the 1GHz dual core processor with 512MB RAM which is totally underpowered when compared to the 1.5GHz quad-core with 2GB RAM on the Nexus 7. While the iPad Mini 2 isn’t slow, it is just not as fast as how it is with the Nexus 7.
Both devices have great connectivity options and superb battery life. As for the operating system, it is all down to the user’s preferences. After all the iPad Mini 2 is made from Apple which created the iOS. The same goes for the Nexus 7 2 which runs on Android, created by Google.
All in all, the Nexus 7 2 triumph against the iPad Mini 2. It is a mismatch. Considering the price tag of both device, there is no reason why consumers shouldn’t get the Nexus 7 2.
