iOS 7.1 vs Android 4.4 KitKat: Which Is Really Better?

Three operating systems have been fighting it out on three of the hottest handsets. Each of them has received updates to back up their strengths.

Crittercism recently did a study and focused on iOS 7.1 and KitKat and the results were interesting when it came to stability of the two operating systems.

When you take the app activity responsiveness and the uptime into account from real time requests of 1 billion owners, iOS 7.1 crashed at a rate of 1.7%, but it had the higher crash rate than Android with KitKat crashing just 0.7%.

However despite Android being more stable, developers do have to optimise apps on the OS.

The study also showed that while Android did come out better in crashes, users accepted iOS 7.1 more than they did with the KitKat upgrade.

When it comes to the acceptance rate, iOS 7.1 had an adoption rate of 85% and Android just 8%.

This is good considering the fact that iOS has recently had a lot of criticism and people have been asking how to downgrade.

The progress along with updates for Windows Phone 8.1 is not slow. Over two days news went from hearing that Windows Phone 8.1 would not arrive on time to us hearing that the core was completed.

Windows Phone 8.1 may even arrive in the summer, so the delay could have been just a week or so, however even though it has been completed, we have heard that it isn’t ready to be rolled out just yet.

The progress is still great though when you take into account that reports said that it wouldn’t arrive at the BUILD conference. We have seen new leaks in the Windows Phone Store app development.

It was said that Windows 8.1 has changed which are related to the app store and new sections have been added. There is now a Quick Link section for top, new and featured apps, along with games, in categories free and paid.

There is also the inclusion of My Apps, this shows installed apps along with those that need updating. Apps will also be shown in categories and users downloading will be able to keep check of the download thanks to a status bar. There is also an option to choose apps based on the location of the phones owner.
