The launching of Resident Evil 6 has sparked a demonstration from the fans. It appears that Capcom has yet again failed to restore the traditional gameplay on the highly popular title. Ever since RE4 saw a genre shift, majority of the RE community calls for the horror to return. And that’s what is hoped for with Resident Evil 7.
At the moment, majority of the fans consist of those who started way back from the first Resident Evil. Back then, RE was a special game as it offer that hair-raising experience to the players. The first trilogy even had a strong rivalry with Silent Hill.
This is no longer available since RE4 took a more action-oriented approach. As sequels go by, RE has lost its original ways and is seen like just another shooter game.
Now, Capcom is at risk of losing a huge population of the fans. A new game is about to debut and fits the description of what the fans have been demanding. The game, known as The Evil Within, has become the word of moth following the release of its trailers.
The Evil Within is set to offer players a great horrific gameplay with plenty of puzzles and mystery to feed hunger faced by RE’s fans. The trailers are available for viewing on Youtube and will indeed threaten Capcom’s future sales figure.
Capcom can save themselves by making RE7 as how the fans want it to be. However, it would result to the game developer changing its goals to appeal the younger generation of gamers which seemed unlikely.
As far as the gaming industry is concerned, The Evil Within looks set to be Resident Evil 7′s biggest nightmare.
