It wasn’t that long ago when Samsung unveiled it Galaxy S5 smartphone when HTC came out of nowhere and challenged it with its upcoming HTC One 2.
Both companies are big names in the world of smartphone and it looks like the competition for the best Android phone this year is fast heating up. Even if both the HTC One 2 and the Galaxy S5 have not been released yet, we have done a comparison on both devices to see which the better device is.
The S5 will be boasting a 5.1inch Super AMOLED display offering 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution with 432ppi. The HTC One 2 on the other hand is expected to have a 5inch super LCD3 with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution with 441ppi. There aren’t much differences between the two. The One 2 smaller screen means a much larger pixel density compared to the S5.
Even the processors are quite similar to each other. Both devices runs on the latest quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. The difference is with the clocking speed. The S5 is clocked at 2.5GHz whereas the HTC One 2 is jammed at 2.3GHz.
The major difference is with the camera. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a whopping 16MP rear camera which shoots 4K videos. The One 2 has a much smaller 5MP HTC Ultrapixel dual sensor rear camera which can produce a superb image as well. The only slack is with the pixel count which means less detail in the image taken.
Other features on the HTC One 2 are still a mystery to the masses. As we all know, the S5 is equipped with a fingerprint scanner and a heartbeat sensor. What will come with the HTC One 2 is still unknown.
Performance-wise, both devices are on par with each other. Even the OS will be the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. As such, we have to wait until more details on the HTC One 2 gets released next week to see what kind of features it will have to offer.
