Anyone with a Samsung Galaxy S4, a Galaxy S3 and even a Note 2 can unlock contract-bound handsets completely free!
Say you’re with Sprint – you can only use your phone on that carrier. But, if you unlock it, you can take it on any carrier you like, anywhere in the world. You could send a handset to a friend or relative who lives overseas, even. Read on if you fancy this procedure.
Take out your SIM card and replace it with one from another network. Turn the phone off and on again.
Go into your dialpad and enter: *#197328640#. Go to main menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > Wait for a minute or two before going back to menus and selecting back. You’ll see a “Network Lock” message, then you choose [4] NW Lock NV INITIALLIZ.
The right sequence will read: Asterisk Pound One Nine Seven Three Two Eight Six Four Zero Pound. Don’t forget that some people call the asterisk the ‘star’, and some people call the pound ‘hash’.
You should have an unlocked phone which can migrate to any carrier you want. This code has been used by Samsung for some time so it might work with other Samsung devices.
