Those who own the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be happy to hear that they can unlock their handset and they don’t have to pay anything and can do it fast and easy.
Anyone who bought their handset on contract from Verizon for instance will only be able to use the device on Verizon. Should they wish to take the handset to another carrier they would need to unlock it. When the device is unlocked the handset can then be used on any carrier with any SIM card. To unlock the Samsung Galaxy S4 just follow the steps below.
Take the SIM card out of the handset and put in one that belongs to a different carrier. Owners should then turn off the device and turn it back on again.
Head to the dial pad and enter *#197328640#. Go to main menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > wait a minute before heading into menus and choosing back. You will see ‘Network Lock’ – so you select [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ.
The correct sequence will read: Asterisk Pound One Nine Seven Three Two Eight Six Four Zero Pound. Remember that some people call the asterisk the ‘star’, and call the pound ‘hash’.
If all has gone well the Samsung Galaxy S4 will now be unlocked and it can be used with any carrier anywhere around the globe. It has been said that the code may work with other Samsung devices.
