The successor to Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is about to be unveiled tomorrow and the hype building towards its release is like never before.
Unlike previous Galaxy devices, there has been much argument regarding the specifications and features in the Galaxy S5. Among the long list of possibilities, there is a certainty that only a handful few will be true.
For a start, the Galaxy S5’s processor has been under much debate. It could be Snapdragon 800 or Exynos 5422. The Galaxy S series is always the ideal line of smartphone from Samsung which is built with the best processor at its time. The latest from Qualcomm is the Snapdragon 805 but it had just been unveiled. There is little chance for it to feature in the S5. Many rumours are pointing to the Exynos 5442 but the processor can’t produce 4K display. A small minority believe it to be the Exynos Infinity which is Samsung’s very own 64-bit processor.
Then there is the debate on display. Will it be Full HD or QHD? The former of the two is already available on monitors and televisions. The tech world is no stranger to it. Considering Samsung’s habit to give the Galaxy S the best display, the QHD is the likely target as it will offer 2560 x 1400 displays.
When it comes to memory, the Note 3 did surprised the world with a 3GB RAM. It is expected to be the same for the Galaxy S5 but some hints for it to stick with 2GB. That suggestion is also based on the processor used.
Samsung has yet to give the S series a full metal finish. There are rumours suggesting this is about to come to an end. The Galaxy S5 is reported to be having a premium feel.
Despite all that, one rumour seems likely and that is the possibility of 2 different Galaxy S5 variants coming for a release. If this is true, then one of them is expected to have all the high end stuffs like metal finish, 64-bit processor and such. The other will still be considered high-end but at a lower aspect. We will know for sure by tomorrow so stay tuned.
