Resident Evil 6 arrived and with it came nothing but dismay from fans as it didn’t have that horror/survival touch that they had come to love. Things had been going downhill for the franchise ever since the release of Resident Evil 4. Gamers have been asking Capcom to bring the game back to its roots and unless Resident Evil 7 scares the pants off them, the game and Capcom could be doomed.
Many people have played the series since the beginning and they love the fact that the game thrilled them while at the same time it sent chills down their spine. Some likened the game to Silent Hill.
When Resident Evil 4 was launched it was more along the lines of Call of Duty.
Players will not like Resident Evil 7 if the game doesn’t have the scary touch to it and they could well move away to other games, such as The Evil Within.
This is a game that relies on solving puzzles along with added touches of mystery and horror. Capcom will need to watch out for this game as it could blow the Resident Evil franchise away.
Unless Resident Evil 7 is dark and gloomy and gives players goose bumps, it will not be received well.
