HTC One Android 4.2.2 Update Released But What’s So Good About It?

Those who own the HTC One has been over the moon about the KitKat 4.4.2 update as it brought with it cloud printing and security enhancements. The update however surprised some people as it hasn’t fixed the issue with the camera taking photos that have a purple tinge to them.

Over in Canada the HTC One along with the HTC One Mini with Bell, Wind, Virgin, Rogers and SaskTel are getting the update for their handset.

In the US the HTC One is getting updated with Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T, along with Verizon. Meanwhile the international version of the HTC One Sense is to get an update in the US.

The HTC One X is getting updated to KitKat 4.4.2 and it should be the last update it gets. An executive at HTC confirmed this and said the update should make its way out around the same time as KitKat 4.4.2 comes to the HTC One.

Of course owners of the devices are looking forward to the many features that come with the update, but some will be dependent on the carrier. Other features including Sense 5.5, cloud printing, Blinkfeed update, Bluetooth profiles and security enhancements should arrive with all carriers.

The biggest issue that owners of the handset have had has been with the red tinge that is seen on photos taken with the camera. People thought that when the update arrived it would fix this. However one owner pointed out that the issue seems to be down to the hardware and is not something that can be fixed with a software update. In order for it to be fixed it would need the camera replacing a the HTC Centre.

If you want to fix the camera quickly temporarily then you can tone down the contrast and saturation in the app for the camera. It does seem to help.
