Android 4.4 KitKat Bugs Plague Nexus 5 & 7

KitKat 4.4 brought with it many new improvements but it also brought some huge issues which owners of Nexus handsets are now being plagued with.

The Nexus 5 comes with a battery of 2,500mAh and it cannot be swapped. KitKat 4.4 has been having a big impact on battery life according to owners. Some owners hoped that Android 4.4.2 would bring about a fix for this.

The phone dialler on the Nexus 5 is said not to work and owners have said they have made a factory reset and this hasn’t fixed the issue. Anyone with a faulty dialler app can fix it by updating the Google Nexus 5 to Android 4.4.1 KitKat.

NFC is said to be cool but owners of the Nexus 5 don’t think so as built in NFC tags don’t seem to detect the device and KitKat 4.4.1 doesn’t rectify the situation either.

Owners of the Nexus 5 have complained about the camera performance being horrible. One thread has reported that the camera app actually crashes and some people have complained about the display being blank when auto dialling.

Nexus 5 owners have said that they have tried to download the Android 4.4.2 update to get fixes but they have had issues with that. OTA updates are said to lock around 20% and the device freezes and gives an error message. Some owners have complained that they don’t get a system is up to date message.
