When Apple launches a new version of iOS those who like to jailbreak their handset get into a bit of a panic. Of course in the past when a new iOS has been launched it hasn’t taken the jailbreakers long to come up with a jailbreak. That is until the launch of iOS 7.1.
With iOS 7.1 many people lost the jailbreak as it has proven too difficult to jailbreak for the hackers. Many people updated and are now stuck without the jailbreak as it was thought that you couldn’t go back to the older version, iOS 7, for which there is a jailbreak. Now there is a way that you can do it, if you have iTunes.
If you want to go ahead and revert your device back to iOS 7 just check out the steps below.
1. Connect your device (iPhone 4,4S,5,5s,5c) to the computer and launch iTunes (latest version)
2. Boot the device into DFU mode by pressing the Power and Home button simultaneously for about 10seconds. After that, release the Power button only and iTunes will read that the phone is in recovery mode.
3. Hold the shift key on your keyboard and select restore on iTunes. (Alt/Option key for Mac).
4. Select the files downloaded earlier and the installation should commence and complete accordingly.
This is the only way to go back and get the jailbreak on your iPhone and it is looking like we will have to wait for the arrival of iOS 8 and hope the jailbreakers manage to crack it.
