There is no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is one of the best smartphones around. Then again, the same can be said for the Xiaomi Mi 3 and above all that, the latter is cheaper than the S5. However, is it better?
In terms of display, the Mi 3 has a 5” screen that offers 441ppi. Amazingly, this is sharper than the 432ppi on the S5’s 5.1” screen. Furthermore, the M3 can last much longer as it has a bigger 3,050mAh battery. The S5 only has 2,800mAh to offer.
Then again, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is faster as it runs on the newer 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. The Mi 3 runs on the older 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU.
Even on cameras, the S5 has more to offer as it comes with a sharper 16MP rear and 2.1MP front shooters. The Mi 3 only has 13MP rear and 2MP front cameras to offer. In addition to that, the S5 is capable of recording videos at 4K resolution while the Mi 3 can only manage 1080p.
The killer blow here is with the storage space. Both smartphones have 16GB of internal storage but it the S5 has added microSD support of up to 128GB. Also, the S5 is packed with tons of features like being dust proof, water proof and coming with a heart rate monitor as well as a fingerprint sensor.
Obviously, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is unrivalled with its offerings which automatically make it the winner in this contest. Despite that fact, the S5 retails at $649 while the Xiaomi Mi 3 retails at $299. That is one huge price gap for the consumers to consider.
