The sales record does not lie and Microsoft is well aware of this. As such, the US tech giant is looking at every playing field to make a comeback for the Xbox One. One of the methods that Microsoft will use is to unbundle the Kinect from the console. This will reduce the price of the Xbox One drastically.
Research firm, IDC, believes that doing so will be vital for Microsoft. With a cheaper Xbox One, the console is predicted to dominate North America but will still be 2nd best globally. IDC felt that this will shape up in 2016 with the PS4 selling 51 million units globally. The Xbox One on the other hand will not stand far behind and will rule the North American region.
As for the Wii U, IDC believes that the special console from Nintendo will remain stagnant, even after an expected $50 price cut at the end of this year.
