Just recently, we saw Google buying out the innovative map application Waze and attempted to get hold of WhatsApp. While negotiations for Waze turns out to be fruitful, the search Giant failed in securing WhatApp, thus leaving people wondering to what have caused the negotiations to collapse.
Well for a start, Google is sitting on a mountain of wealth so money is no issue here. I mean to spend a rumoured $1 billion on Waze is simply unbelievable. While the map app has some interesting features and growing rapidly in terms of popularity, it could be that Google wants to monopolize the map applications by taking out its rivals that threatens the Google Map.
Could it be that Google pulled out of negotiations due to the poor prospect of the application? How is that so? Some reports suggest that the two ex-yahoo staff that created WhatsApp felt that their creation is worth more, considering Google willingly spend a billion on the overpriced Waze.
WhatsApp is probably the most used communication application in the world. Apparently, Google must have felt that there is an inflation of such applications. Also, the company too feels that BBM will challenge WhatsApp before the latter slides down the chart to join the ranks of Kakao Talk and Snapchat.
There is no denying that WhatsApp is currently the best chat application around but for how much longer? Have it already reached the peak of the graph and is subjected to a downfall or will it continue to sustain and continue to grow despite the availability of BBM?
