Apple fans may well be in for another surprise. The 3D Touch feature for both the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus would be available too, on their brethren, the iPad Pro. It’s all made possible because of the developer Hamza Sood who created an iOS9 jailbreak, which hacks the Apple Pencil. Then his next bold move is bringing the 3D Touch to Apple’s widest tablet yet. Now you’ve got the drift, eh?
Now, the Apple iPad Pro wasn’t built to support the 3D Touch system, because it’s only built for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. So, how did he do it? Sood shared a less-enthusiastic tweet recently, showing his creation. What made it possible was all from hacking into the high-tech sensors in the Apple Pencil, and not into the iPad Pro or its hardware. With the Apple Pencil being engaged to the iPad Pro, it will map pressure sensor data to paint, sketch and write. What’s more, Sood was also able to convert the pressure sensor data into 3D style gestures. Too amazing!
If you’re wondering what the 3D Touch system can do, it basically is more responsive and provides increased functionality. Since most icons have a 3D touch menu, there’s no surprise as this makes it very high-demand. For instance, with just a soft press, the Peek and Pop 3D Touch feature on your iPhone 6S would allow you to quickly “peek” at message without directly going into the Messages app. However, press a little firmer on the Camera app and it’ll bring you to the selfie lens right away.
It’s also worthy to note that if you’d like to use the 3D Touch system on your iPad Pro, you certainly can but you’ll have to wait. Since the iOS 9 exploit is only possible with Apple’s latest accessory, we’ll ask just have to be patient in the meantime.
