Fans were largely disappointed with the PC port of Watch Dogs, from complaints about performance issues to noticeable graphical downgrades from what was initially shown in 2012. However, a Guru3D forum user named ‘The Worse’, has created a mod that allows the PC version of Watch Dogs to feature the level of graphical fidelity that was once shown back in the Watch Dog’s E3 2012 trailer.
‘The Worse’ initially began modifying the game in search of fixing the games performance issues after its release.
“After searching so much for the unpacker I found it, started playing with it and after a long time of testing I ended up getting the E3 Bloom from 2012 working.”
The modifications include various enhancements such as the E3 2012 bloom, reflection changes, level of detail changes, higher quality rain and fixes to stuttering issues within the game.
You can find the full list of modifications to the game here. However, ‘The Worse’ stresses that not every feature is included within the mod and has yet to be implemented.
Watch Dogs is an open-world action adventure game for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U and PC and was released on May 27th, with the exception of the Wii U, which has still yet to be released.
