Volkswagen will be at the Detroit Auto Show where they will be taking the covers off a new electric powered Volkswagen Tiguan plug-in hybrid concept.
After the huge diesel blunder, they made last year, it has been reported that Volkswagen wants to focus their attention on hybrid and electric powered model instead.
Unlike the Tiguan GTE Concept that they showed off last year, this new concept that they will be showing off at the Detroit Auto Show is all about off-road drive. Reuters also added that the new Volkswagen Tiguan plug-in hybrid concept will use electric motors that will be mounted in the front and rear axles along with a regular engine.
The arriving of the new plug-in hybrid model will hopefully help improve the sales of the US models.
The concept will be part of Volkswagen’s plan to release 20 new electric powered models by 2020.
