A couple of years ago, American carriers were going on all out in making sure that the masses are all using smartphones. They even went as far as offering unlimited bundled data to the consumers.
Today, where everyone is enslaved by mobile internet, Verizon has been plotting a way to remove the unlimited data package as they could have made a lot of money from it. Despite that fact, the Big Red carrier claims that it is simply fair usage policy.
Well, their intentions became clear after Verizon resulted to using desperate tactics to axe the unlimited data package once and for all. The carrier revealed that those on the old price plan will no longer enjoy the subsidized smartphones.
This is obviously taking away the people’s rights as the subsidy is enforced by the government for those that are picking up new smartphones with a telco. What’s the point of purchasing a new smartphone with Verizon when consumers cannot enjoy the subsidy?
Furthermore, Verizon revealed that any changes from the old price plan will automatically update itself to the new price plans. This would mean the axing of the unlimited data package once and for all.
