This update was made available on Monday, but bear in mind that it isn’t available OTA. If you want to update your handset you can get it through Samsung Kies by connecting your device to your computer. Verizon haven’t issued a changelog yet and users who have gone ahead and updated have said that it took around 30 minutes for the update to complete, which could be the reason why Verizon didn’t offer it OTA.
The Verizon update comes some months after Android 4.4 was released by other carriers for the Galaxy Note 3 and of course we all know that Verizon is typically the last to offer updates. Of course this could mean that there will not be any bugs or issues that come up in the software.
It is thought that the update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which is N900VVRUCNC4 will come with all the standard KitKat 4.4 features, including the restyled stylus and navigation bars, the full screen mode, colour emoji support, improvements to closed captioning support, better security and smarter power use. It is also thought that the update will come with a new phone dialer app along with gallery app and a touch to focus option. Verizon will also include their own changes in the update.
It was just days ago when Samsung said that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini 3G along with the Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 would not get updated to KitKat 4.4 and this was down to the RAM in the handsets. Samsung said that with the handsets only having 1GB of RAM they would not be able to run the software. Many Galaxy devices will be getting the update, as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has 3GB of RAM it is among the first to be updated.
