Verizon Pushing On Nexus 5 As Nexus 6 Remains In Doubts

Earlier this year, Verizon shook the world after the Big Red carrier started selling the Google Nexus 5. This is the first time in history where a Nexus device is being sold by Verizon.

The more surprising factor is that the Nexus 5 was released late last year which left many wondering on why Verizon decided to sell the device so much later than its competitors. Many analysts are worried that Verizon’s decision to sell away the Nexus 5 could be more of a loss than a gain.

The reason for this is that all the other carriers are gearing up for the upcoming Nexus 6. The successor to the Nexus 5 is expected to be the last Nexus smartphone and it is tipped to arrive in autumn this year.

We are already in the autumn period and sadly to say, there is no sign of the Nexus 6 anywhere. Perhaps, Verizon knew something that no one does and that is with the Nexus 6, not coming into production.

If this is to be the case, then it will also explain why Verizon picked up the Nexus 5 all of a sudden. The rumours have also gone rife in citing that Google has scrapped the Nexus program entirely as they look forward to commencing the Android Silver Program.

Then again, this is just a possibility and not a certainty. Autumn is still far away from its end and the Nexus 6 might just arrive at the last minute mark. When the smartphone make its debut, it will look to compete with the likes of the Apple iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6.
