Verizon sudden decision to start selling the Google Nexus 5 shocked the world due to the timing of it. The Nexus 5 has been released for about 5 months already and it is only now when Verizon wish to start selling the device.
The Big Red is already far behind its competitors like AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint as they all have enjoyed tremendous profit from the Nexus 5.
Later this year, the Nexus 6 is expected to get released and it is expected to continue the successful streak the Nexus 5 is on. Then again, new rumours suggest that the Nexus 6 will come later instead of autumn.
If this is true, then it is a slight relief for Verizon as they can look to promote the Nexus 5. Both Verizon and Google were never able to see eye to eye in the past and for the first time in forever, they are starting to get along just fine.
