Honda has made it clear that they desire to bring the latest generation Civic Type-R into the US but unfortunately, it is not as simple as it sounds. While Honda has yet to give any updates about this, an insider revealed that the company is actually producing a different kind of Civic Type-R for the US.
In detail, the Civic Type-R will have a slightly different styling to give it an appearance that is near-similar to the latest, tenth generation Civic. On top of that, the rear portion of the Type-R will have a cleaner design.
The sports hatch will also feature three pipes. Two of the pipes will be flanking the rear bumpers and they are equipped with mufflers. The third pipe runs through the middle and it will act as a bypass to produce a nice tune whenever the car is engaged in race mode.
On the performance front, the US-bound Civic Type-R will be identical to the ones being sold in Europe. While it all sounds exciting, Honda has yet to confirm on the above so it is best to take it with a grain of salt.
