Toyota has always made it very clear that they are willing to work towards a more fuel efficient future. Their Prius was a huge success and they have clearly made some progress in terms of hydrogen fuel but it looks like Toyota is looking to take another big step and this time, it is toward the all-electric future.
Toyota has just announced that Akio Toyoda, the grandson of Kiichiro Toyoda, the man who started Toyota will be leading the new EV division for Toyota. Toyota has also roped in Mitsuhisa Kato and Shigeki Terashi along with Koji Toyoshima who will be head of the engineering side.
Of course, it will take some time before we will actually see something from Toyota. We do not know what they have in mind right now but some people seems to think that the Prius might go from hybrid to full electric thanks to the new division.
