20,000 different vehicles have been called back from Toyota after the Japanese carmaker discovered that they are suffering from faulty parts. The vehicles affected are the 2014 Camry, Sienna, Avalon and Highlander in the US.
The announcement was made Toyota Motor Sales USA and it is because of a fuel leak that arose from the 2GR-FE engine. In detail, the issue is with the fuel delivery pipe which is faulty.
Toyota revealed that the end cap on the right-hand fuel delivery pipe in the engine compartment could have been insufficiently welded during manufacturing at the supplier. The fuel leaked could spread to the ignition cord, which could also start a fire.
The good news is there has yet to be any Toyota vehicle set ablaze from the issue. Owners of the affected vehicles are already notified and should head down to the nearest Toyota service centre immediately. If there is indeed and issue with the fuel delivery pipe, drivers will get it replaced at no charge.
