Toyota will be issuing a new recall to recall back their Toyota RAV4 after it was reported that the metal seat cushion frame might lead to the rear passengers sustaining for damage in a severe frontal crash.
It was reported that the metal seat cushion frame might get damage in a serious frontal crash which would then affect the rear seats lap-shoulder seatbelts. If that happens, the seatbelts will not be able to restrain the occupant which could lead to the occupant sustaining, even more, injuries.
A total of 1,124,000 units of the Toyota RAV4 will be affected by the recall. The affected models will include the 2012-2014 Toyota RAV4 EV as well as the 2006-2012 Toyota RAV4.
Models that are affected will be called in to get the resin covers fitted onto the metal seat cushion frame. Owners will be contacted via mail on whether or not they are affected by the recall.
