If you plan to get the new Blood and Wine DLC, here are some things that you might want to do first before diving into the game.
Make sure that Geralt is at level 30 and above since the first mission itself will require you to be at level 35. If you have a few ability points to spend, your best bet right now is to boost your Igni and Urden sign since you will be battling against vampires and new Cursed ones.
You might also want to save some of those points for the mutagen upgrades. The new Blood and Wine DLC will come with 12 new mutation ability.
You might want to sort out your armor as well. One of the upgrades that the Blood and Wine DLC ahs are that the game will now reward players that put on a fully completed armor set. Each set will come with extra perks. There is also the new Grandmaster armor upgrade which will allow the player to further upgrade their Mastercraft armor.
