Up until now, Sony has not really revealed what they have planned for their flagship this year. Their rivals, LG, and Samsung announced their flagship at the MWC this year and while Sony was also at the convention, they choose not to announce the Sony Xperia Z6 and decide to reveal the new Sony Xperia X Series instead.
Sony introduced three new smartphones from the series, the Xperia X, XA and X Performance. Since this is not the flagship, you would think these devices will only come with a mid-level spec but that wasn’t the case.
The trios came with specs and hardware that could match some of the top smartphones in the market. This had lead many to speculate that Sony might have already dutch the Sony Xperia Z6 and has decided to focus on the new X Series.
It was previously assumed that the Xperia Z6 will be coming in with a Snapdragon 820 chipset and that will be equipped with a 23MP camera but we are not sure if that is going to happen or not anymore.
