The Xperia Z family is where consumers can seek the finest smartphones from Sony. They are all fast, powerful and elegant. As such, we have decided to compare the Xperia Z2 and the Z Ultra to find out the better device.
In terms of pricing, the larger Z Ultra can be purchased for $399. This is cheaper than the Xperia Z2 that cost $609.
The display on both devices is impressive in every way. Despite having a much larger 6.4” TFT display, the Z Ultra is capable of producing 342ppi. Then again, it is no match for the 424ppi produced by the Z2’s 5.2” IPS LCD display.
Under the case, the Z2 runs on the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with a whopping 3GB RAM. The larger Z Ultra is much slower with its slightly older 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM. Even on cameras, the Z2 triumph against all with its massive 20.7MP rear shooter. The Z Ultra can only offer 8MP.
Most important of all is the battery. Even though the Z2 is smaller than the Z Ultra, the former is equipped with a larger 3,200mAh battery whereas the latter is equipped with a 3,050mAh battery.
All in all, the Z2 is king of the Z family and it could even be the leader in the smartphone industry. On the other hand, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra is still a powerful device.
