We are mid-way into 2014 and up until today, only three smartphones have managed to arouse the masses. They are the Sony Xperia Z2, HTC OneM8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5. All three devices are sold in Malaysia with the same price tag of RM2,399 which explains the dilemma Malaysians are facing.
Well, worry no further. We did a comparison on all three smartphones and the results are surprising. For starters, the Samsung Galaxy S5 shouldn’t be part of this contest as it scored the lowest of the three. The flagship device from Samsung might be packed with tons of features but all of them are not well-done. There is simply no quality with the S5.
Then there is the battle between two heavyweights, the One M8 and the Xperia Z2. While many of might not agree, the One M8 actually did better than the Z2. This is partly due to its dual-camera. Even with a low pixel count, the images produced have little noise to it. Of course, it would be better if HTC has given it more pixel counts.
Then there is the Sense UI which is unmatched in terms of speed. The Xperia UI is great but not as fast as the Sense. The TouchWiz is sluggish at its best. Also, it is a power sucker.
While the One M8 wins by a close shave, the Z2 is still a great device. Its brand of water resistant and dust resistant is nothing like its competitors. After all, Sony is the pioneer of such features.
With all three devices sharing the same price tag, it is best to get the HTC One M8. After all, paying up the huge sum will bless you with a premium, luxurious device that is built with quality, not plastic.
